JEE MAIN 2026 SESSION 1:-Strict reporting time & dress code put forth by the NTA

The JEE Main 2026 Session 1 reporting times and dress code are established by the National Testing Agency (NTA) to ensure smooth security frisking and biometric verification. 

Reporting Time & Schedule

Candidates are required to report to their assigned centers well in advance to complete mandatory verification processes. 

Shift 1 (Morning):

Reporting Time:- Starts at 7:00 AM.

Gate Closing Time:- 8:30 AM Sharp.

Exam Duration:- 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM.

Shift 2 (Afternoon):- Reporting Time:- Starts at 1:00 PM.

Gate Closing Time:- 2:30 PM Sharp.

Exam Duration:- 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM (until 6:30 PM for Paper 2).

Note for Special Candidates:-

Those wearing religious or customary attire (e.g., Turban, Hijab) must report at least one hour earlier than the regular reporting time for thorough frisking. 

Dress Code Guidelines-- NTA mandates simple, light clothing to facilitate metal detector checks and prevent malpractice. 

Clothing:-

1)Wear light, comfortable, and simple clothes like T-shirts, tops, or kurtas.

2)Jeans are allowed if they are plain and lack large pockets, metal studs, or heavy embroidery.

Prohibited:-

Clothes with large buttons, metallic zippers, or heavy padding/layers (jackets, hoodies).

Prohibited for Females:-

 Dupattas, scarves, and stoles are generally not allowed.

Footwear:-

1)Shoes with thick soles are strictly prohibited.

2)Wear simple open footwear such as slippers, sandals, or floaters.

Jewellery & Accessories:-

1)All jewellery (rings, earrings, nose pins, bangles, chains) is banned.

2)Watches (analog or digital), belts, caps, and goggles are not permitted.

Mandatory Items to Carry:-

You must carry these items to the official JEE Main exam center:--

1) Admit Card:- A clear, printed copy of your JEE Main 2026 Hall Ticket with the self-declaration (undertaking) filled out.

2) Photo ID:- A valid original government-issued photo ID (Aadhaar Card, PAN Card, Voter ID, or Passport).

3) Photograph:- At least one additional passport-size color photograph (same as uploaded) to be pasted on the attendance sheet.

Stationery:- A simple transparent ballpoint pen.
